a makeover and a melt-down

I decided last night that I would redo my front porch. After my whicker chairs kept getting blown away in every thunderstorm this spring, I moved them to the deck and since then the porch has been naked and empty. It's quite inviting, the front of my house. Earlier this year I transplanted 2 coral bells from the front of the house to the back. I found a stray that got left behind next to the front porch, and I have a ton of empty pots in the barn so I transplanted it to one of the pots. I didn't buy any annuals this year so all my pots were naked and empty too. Yes, my front entrance has been quite welcoming. So I put the bench from the deck and a few other plants on the porch, and here's what I have so far....

[Notice The Girl is standing at the door whining because she didn't get to come out with me to take the pics. Always fun times and smiles around my house.]

Anywho, since I actually showed the outside of my house some attention last night, the hose came out. I had to water the plants I put out there. And wash off the sidewalk chalk just in case HGTV showed up to document the amazing transformation. (I know, it's a bench and three plants; not all that amazing, but I was excited, ok?)
As I said, the hose came out. The Boy L.O.V.E.S. the hose. Mr. Clean L.O.V.E.S. the pretty purple sprayer I bought for it, too.

I put him in charge of watering the plants and cleaning off the sidewalk chalk, and he was quite excited about the task. So excited he "accidently" sprayed The Girl at one point, but she didn't seem to mind.

And he "accidently" sprayed himself, at some point too.

But when The Boy got a little too excited and sprayed me, and my camera got a few drops of water on it [GASP!!!!] I said "DONE!" As you can see, that didn't go over too well.

But, doesn't my porch look cute?

Very cute! Looks very inviting. My front porch is a disgrace right now...between kids and puppies I am fighting a losing battle. Glad we live away from the main road!
